Cop Shoves Cyclist, Fired by NYPD and Possible 4 Year Sentence.

Submitted by John on February 23, 2009 – 11:40 pmNo Comment

I'm sure a lot of you have already heard about this or seen it on youtube, but there are new developements in the story from New York City in which a NYPD officer pretty much tackled a cyclist participating in a Critical Mass.  That former officer, Patrick Pogan has been arraigned under charges of falsifying records.  He has recently plead not guilty to the charges and if convicted could face up to 4 years in prison.  The cop was fired recently on February 10th, ONLY SEVEN MONTHS AFTER THE ORIGINAL INCIDENT. The Manhattan District Attorney said that the video footage of the even along with countless witness accounts clearly contradicted and discredited the officer's claim that the cyclist was "Obstructing government administration" and resisiting arrest.  Just another example of some kook on a power trip.  If you havent seen it, check out the video below.
