Remember about a week ago, we mentioned the importance of wearing a helmet and not splattering your brains on the pavement when you are out riding...either out on the city streets, or on a track or wherever...Well, I just wanted to bring that point back up and perhaps offer a solid solution to this problem. Check out these helmets offered through Bern which are made of carbon fiber...some of he toughest shit you can get to protect ya dome. Bern makes a bunch of different multi-purpose helmets for all kinds of activities, like biking, skiing and skating...and the best thing about these helmets is that they look way cooler, or should i say way less lame than 90% of helmets out there. These aren't your typical old school, plastic Bell helmets. Another good thing about these helmets is the design, in terms of their safety. The backs of these helmets come down significantly farther on the back of the head in order to protect more than the typical helmet would. Many of the helmets offered through Bern also come equipped with a visor in the front so that definitely ups the safety and handiness of this helmet...now you can wear a helmet instead of a simple hat that wont help you at all if you find yourself heading face first for the pavement when a car cuts you off in the middle of a ride. Finally, the last selling point for me on this helmet is the weight...it is not heavy or at all what you would expect. This is a great helmet, even for those who despise helmets.
