The Making of a Fixed Gear Bike

John April 21, 2009 1

Check out this video that catalogs the process of building a bike frame.  This is a neat little video by the guys over at Geekhouse Bicycles.  These guys custom design and hand build all of their frames, which is a really special thing.  Here is a little bio about the guys at Geekhouse, and what they are all about:

“Geekhouse bikes was started out of a long-time love for bicycles and was originally founded in 2002. While our original frames were designed in-house and outsourced for manufacturing, our newest line of frames are now being both designed and hand-crafted by our small staff of builders in Boston, Massachusetts.

Buying a bicycle from an independent builder means that each frame is built one by one and with love. Whether you choose a stock or a custom model each frame is built specifically for you. Our products use a large percentage of domestic tubing and locally machined parts. We work off of a sustainable and green business model, and absolutely love what we’re doing. There is a large difference when buying a Geekhouse and we’d love the opportunity to create your next dream bike.”

Sounds pretty good to me…I like these guys…and I really like this video…its really neat, and its a pretty cool song.  I wish I could do all of this and build cycles, it looks fun and I’m sure you get a lot of satisfaction out of creating something so awesome…well, enjoy this video.
