It is always a good idea to have a good set of necessary tools to work on and maintain your bike…without having to borrow them from your friends or local shop…so here’s a little list of essential tools every rider should have…at home and with you on a ride.
-15mm wrench. This is probably the most necessary tool to have…it fits most all hubs…I always carry this thing around…these are pretty inexpensive, but you can get a bike specific tool that will have this as well as other gadgets on it all fitting in your pocket.
-Spare tube. Not really a tool, but just as essential…another thing I always carry with me when I am out riding, never know when you’re gonna pop one…you’re also going to want to have a patching kit with you too.
-Allen wrenches. Another important set of tools for tightening and adjusting your bike…pretty cheap…keep a set at home and in your bag…these things are always going missing.
-Mini pump or c02 inflator…going back to the flat tire thing, you gotta have a way to pump that tire up, especially if you are out in the middle of nowhere on a super long ride.
-Chainring bolt tool…those stuck chainring bolts are a pain…this is a super helpful tool.
