Messenger bags…are they really that important? Do people really need them, or are they just some dumbass accessory that people wear to make a dumb fashion statement? Well, there is truth to both of these conclusions, but for the most part, they are a pretty handy little thing to have around…I mean, a backpack can serve the same purpose…it is convenient and out of your way, and probably holds more than a purse looking thing strapped around your shoulder. But, they can be cool sometimes. Messenger bags have much easier access than a backpack, just open the lap and you can get to whatever you need…no zippers or anything. Eitherway, backpack or messenger bag, you need to have something to carry all your stuff with you while you are riding. There are just somethings you shouldn’t leave the house without, and that is precisely why you should have some sort of bag with you at all times…you definitely need space to have your bike lock, an extra tube or two, a tool, a light, a phone…and probably some other stuff too.
