Los Angeles Cyclists get some legal protection

John July 23, 2011 0

According to Southern California Public Radio, the city of Los Angeles is getting tougher on enforcing cyclists’ rights on the roads with motorists.  The city has approved new ordinances with tough measures against drivers who harass bicyclists.  It prohibits motorists from distracting, threatening, or assaulting cyclists.  This ordinance awards a minimum of $1,000, even in the absence of damages, plus lawyer fees for successful complainants.  I hope this doesn’t just start a string of whiny bitches all over the west coast raising hell over every little thing.  Don’t look like too much of a kook out there in Hollywood.
