Alright, it is the middle of the summer and it is officially burning hot outside. Depending on where you are, it could be either worse or better or you…but I am in the South and it is horrible outside. Now is the time when you really need to stay hydrated. I mean, you need to stay hydrated always, but especially if you are going to be out riding your bike around everyday. Yea, these hydration packs can look really goofy at times, but I will take goofy over dying from thirst and heat exhaustion any day.
Of course, we have all heard of camelbaks…i remember seeing people at school just walking to class with these things on…I thought it was totally corny…but if you are actually doing something physical I can understand wearing them. They are lightweight and pretty unnoticeable when you are wearing one…and they actually keep the water inside pretty nice and cold. I definitely wear one on days like today…its just way easier than reaching down for a water bottle…its actually much safer too. You dont have to take your eyes off the road to reach down and find a bottle, the mouthpiece is right there waiting to be sipped on. Im going to go fill mine up now and hit the road.
